Rotisserie Chicken
I really enjoy cooking on the barbecue 🔥. It seems like the food tastes better. I also like grilling because it doesn’t heat up the house during the summer months and cleanup is a breeze plus I’m outside enjoying the beautiful weather… what more could I ask for?
I have so many BBQ recipes like Chipotle Stuffed Bronto Burgers, Creole Shrimp & Andouille Skewers, Pacific Coast Salmon on the BBQ, Caribbean Jerk BBQ Pork Chops, Grilled Fish Tacos, Tomates à la Provençale (Tomatoes Provençal), Lamb Kofta with Yogurt Sauce, BBQ Beef Shish Kebabs, and many more including this one… my Rotisserie Chicken!
This is such an incredible recipe! It’s juicy and so flavorful 😋! I use an oil based rub on the poultry. After 30 minutes of roasting, I brush on my BBQ Sauce for Chicken and repeat every 15 minutes until it’s done. To achieve this delicious featured recipe, you need a good rotisserie kit which can be found at most hardware stores or online.
When roasting this Rotisserie Chicken 🐓, we need to place an aluminum pan under to catch the drippings and any excess BBQ sauce. Also, we have to roast it on indirect heat at 375º to 400º Fahrenheit 🌡. The perfect internal temperature for this big bird is around 175ºF to 180ºF depending on the size of the chicken.
This is a pretty straightforward recipe. The beauty of making your Rotisserie Chicken at home is you can use the seasoning and sauces you choose and the results are far superior to the ones from the supermarket. This is a must make for summer grilling!

- 1 tbsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp. Za'atar tips & tricks
- 1 tsp. hot paprika
- 1 tsp. ground Himalayan sea salt, or to taste
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce for chicken see Recipe
Directions
- Place an aluminum drip pan in the center of the grill. Position the rotisserie fork slightly off center on the BBQ.
- Preheat BBQ to 375 to 400ºF, turning on the outside burners.
- Rinse chicken under cold water, remove any giblets, pat dry and truss legs together as well as wings. Insert the spit rod through the bird's cavity. Place the other fork on spit rod and insert firmly so the chicken stays in place when turning.

- Transfer the chicken to the BBQ, start the rotisserie motor, close the lid and roast on indirect heat for 1:15 hours to 1:30 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 175ºF.
- After 30 minutes of roasting, brush on BBQ Sauce for Chicken and repeat every 15 minutes until the chicken is done.
