Pizza Dip

Super Bowl is coming up this weekend and if you don’t go out to watch the game and instead, decide to have friends over, you need great “party food”! Most of them are so easy to prepare and it’s nice to have a variety of finger foods for your buddies!

I’ve been sharing many appetizer recipes that are perfect for events, gatherings and parties like Spanakopita, Bruschetta, Hummus, Potato Skins, Chicken Nuggets, Quesadillas, Zucchini Sticks, Tacos, Stuffed Buns, Pepper Jack Cheese Sticks, Egg Rolls, Pico de Gallo, Baked Greek Pita Wedges, and so on.

When it comes to dips, I have many as well; Pumpernickel Spinach Dip, Clam Casino Spread, Jalapeño Bacon Cheese Dip, Six Layer Chip Dip, etc. Another one that is amazingly delicious is my Pizza Dip! This is basically a pizza in “dip” form. It’s a fun dish to serve plus versatile as well because you can change some ingredients to suit your taste.

Besides the cheeses (cream cheese, Cheddar and Parmesan) which are seasoned with my homemade Italian seasoning, there’s also mini pepperoni and black olives along with pizza sauce. To make it more deliciously interesting, I sauté together Italian sausage, onions, green peppers, mushrooms and garlic then add it to the mixture using a slotted spoon. As much as fat is flavor, we don’t want our Pizza Dip to be oily so it’s a good idea to leave the fat behind.

As I mentioned, there’s some Italian sausage. David and I prefer using hot instead of mild but go with what you like. I have an amazing sausage recipe so simply click on this link to get it >>> Hot Italian Sausage

This Pizza Dip is definitely a crowd-pleasing appetizer! It can be prepped ahead and baked just before serving. The food vessels I like to use are crostini, tortilla chips or simply French bread but crackers, bagel bites or even veggies are a good choice. If you don’t have time to make a pizza from scratch, the next best thing is to make this incredibly flavorful dip…
Bon Appétit! 🍽
