Many out there don’t add enough flavor when cooking. For those of you who have been following me, you know I’m all about seasoning 🥫. There are no “blah” recipes on this website! There’s always spices, sauces and/or rubs that goes into my dishes.

When it comes to rubs, I like to have a different one according to the protein. Some like using the same for any meat… it doesn’t work that way. The rub used for fish 🐟 won’t have the same impact on chicken or beef and vice versa. By understanding which spices and herbs fit best for a specific protein, you need a variety of rubs.

I already posted a couple which are Smoky BBQ Rub and Fish Rub • Homemade Blend. Here’s another one to add to the list… my Kansas City Dry Rub! With a great assortment of spices, this gives the perfect balance between sweetness, saltiness, smokiness and spiciness without overpowering the flavor of the protein.

This rub is ideal for earthy flavor profiles like pork 🐖, beef, and game meat. It can still be used on chicken but like I said above, it’s not really the right meat for this. It’s definitely not suitable for fish or seafood. Next month, I’ll be posting a favorite of ours and it’s Kansas City Style Pork Ribs.

With a beautiful blend of spices, you can have this flavorful Kansas City Dry Rub made in no time ⏳! Applied shortly before cooking, this is a great enhancer for your meat. In June, I’ll be posting another outstanding recipe which is my Coffee Cocoa Rub so stay tuned!
