Strawberry Agua Fresca

In the heart of the summer, it can get pretty hot 🥵. To keep ourselves hydrated, I make something refreshing. I stay away from alcoholic drinks as they make it harder to regulate our body temperature, increasing the risk of illness.

It can be my Homemade Lemonade, a lovely hibiscus 🌺 beverage called Agua de Jamaica, a mocktail, Roy Rogers, Lemon Iced Tea, Fruit Punch, Slushies, and so on including this amazing one… Strawberry Agua Fresca!

This refreshing Mexican fruit drink is ideal to serve when the mercury rises! It’s the tastiest way to cool off while staying hydrated! Besides being quick and easy to make, this non-alcoholic beverage is packed with vitamins and nutrients 💚.

Every time David and I go to in Mexico, we make sure to try something totally new. This is how we came across so many flavorful dishes as well as drinks like this Strawberry Agua Fresca! Although this recipe uses strawberries, you can always switch using other fruits such as watermelon 🍉, blueberries, etc.

To make the beverage smooth and not grainy, I like to dissolve the granulated sugar in water 💧 on the stove. As soon as it’s done, it’s removed from the heat… there’s no need to bring it to a simmer. It’s set aside to cool off while looking after the strawberries.

The next step is to liquify the fruits with the remaining 1 ½ cups of water and freshly squeezed lime juice. When this is done, simply strain the strawberry mixture into the water-sugar saucepan that cooled off. Stir well, pour into a large pitcher and chill for at least 2 hours ⏰ before serving. It’s that easy!

This tasty cold drink is perfect to sip on those insanely hot days. Extremely refreshing, Strawberry Agua Fresca 🍓 is certainly a great summer recipe to enjoy! Be ready to make many batches of this fabulous beverage…
Cheers! 🥂
