It’s all happened to us. Being too busy, looking after other chores and suddenly we realize that we forgot to take the Steaks out of the freezer and it’s almost dinner time. What other alternative is there? The microwave can be one of them BUT… yes there’s a big “but”. Since microwaves have been around, we’ve used the defrost program for our meat but most of the time, the results aren’t that good. I don’t know how many times I’ve really kept my eyes on my protein defrosting in the microwave, I always ended up with a little cooked dried meat around the edges… nothing drastic but definitely not ideal.

One day, I got an idea and after trying it at first with steaks, I kept trying it with other proteins such as chicken, lamb and pork. In this episode, I’ll be sharing my little trick with you on Defrosting Meats Quickly! It might take a little longer than the defrost program on the microwave but it works great. The key here is to use very hot water from the tap, not boiling though, and flip the meat often.

Defrosting Meats Quickly is a great tip to know when time is challenging. There’s very little attention needed while doing it. It’s great for most of the proteins but I strongly recommend not to do it with shrimp, fish or other seafood. I will show you how to proceed with these proteins another time.

I prefer thawing my meat in the refrigerator but many times I forget to take them out from the freezer and it’s already mid-afternoon or later. This Defrosting Meats Quickly method works great for these situations. Please watch the video to see how to do it…
