Burgers on the BBQ 🔥 are a must have during summer time! I love them and can’t imagine not having them at least once a week! Although grilling them on the “barbie” gives that incredible smoky flavor to burgers, they’re still amazing when grilled inside. Here’s a great recipe to make them indoors… my Shrimp Sliders!

These little guys are so tasty! With a nice balance of ingredients along with lovely seasonings, these Shrimp Sliders are a fantastic appetizer to make! They’re perfect when entertaining! Grilled nicely until golden, this is another way to enjoy shrimp… 🍤

After processing the shrimp and other ingredients in the food processor, the mixture will be minced and quite sticky. From there, it’s transferred to a bowl and then the other ½ pound of shrimp is added. It’s important to have them cut in very small pieces so it blends well into the mixture.

Another step that I want to highlight is the breadcrumbs. It’s easier to incorporate into the minced mixture by adding a ¼ cup at a time, stir well, add another ¼ cup, stir again before adding the last one. That way, the breadcrumbs are distributed evenly.

Before forming the patties, you’ll realize how sticky the mixture is. To have beautiful Shrimp Sliders, grease your hands with canola oil or any other flavorless oils. It will make the task easier to shape them and also faster… 😉

I like to make a quick spicy spread for them which is only two ingredients; mayo and sriracha sauce! Simply mix these two together, cover and chill until ready to serve. It gives a slight spiciness and wraps everything up so nicely. To make mayo from scratch, click on this link… Homemade Mayonnaise

Ingredients

SLIDERS

  • 1 lb. shrimp, peeled, deveined, quartered and divided
  • 4 tbsp. red peppers, roughly chopped and divided
  • 4 tbsp. green onions, roughly chopped and divided
  • 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice tips & tricks
  • 1 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. mild paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp. ground Himalayan sea salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper, or to taste (I always use mixed peppercorns)
  • 1 large clove garlic, halved
  • 1 tbsp. fresh dill, chopped tips & tricks
  • 3/4 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp. canola oil, or as needed plus more for hands tips & tricks
  • lettuce and tomatoes, for garnish

MAYO SAUCE

  • 1/2 cup mayo see Recipe
  • 1 tsp. sriracha sauce, or to taste

Directions

  • In the bowl of a food processor, add ½ lb. shrimp, 2 tbsp. red peppers, 2 tbsp. green onions, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, lemon zest, salt, pepper and garlic.
  • Process until the ingredients are finely chopped and the mixture turns into a thick paste, about 30 seconds, cleaning the sides of the bowl.
  • Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl and add the remaining ½ lb. shrimp, the remaining 2 tablespoons red peppers as well as green onions, dill, and ¼ cup of panko breadcrumbs.
  • Combine all the ingredients until nicely blended before adding another ¼ cup of breadcrumbs, mix again and add the last ¼ cup.
  • With greased hands, scoop about 2 ½ tablespoons and form a patty. Place on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat while making the others.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and transfer to the fridge for at least 30 minutes but ideally, 2 hours is better.
  • Meanwhile, mix the sauce ingredients, cover and chill until ready to serve.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of canola oil and when it’s hot, add the shrimp patties.
  • Grill for 5 minutes before flipping them and grilling the other side until nicely browned, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Spread mayo sauce on the top and bottom buns, place lettuce then the patties on top followed by tomato slices. Makes 9 sliders.
