Why buy Powdered Sugar at the supermarket when you can make your own?

I have to admit that the more we cook/bake, the more kitchen tools, food items and “stuff” we get in the kitchen. Often I say to myself that I have everything I need and “bam!”, there’s another kitchen tool I buy. The same applies to my pantry… My cupboards and pantry are packed with ingredients and spices.
 
When it comes to food items at the grocery store, I try to make most of them homemade if I can. There are certain food items that for some incomprehensible reason are costly. If we take saffron for example, this item is pricey because the flower’s threads are harvested by hand which takes a lot of time… totally understandable! On the other hand, there’s Powdered Sugar that is pretty pricey… why? With all the kitchen gadgets we own, there is no reason for this food item to be so expensive.
 
There are some recipes, mostly in baking, that require Powdered Sugar as an ingredient. As I said, buying it at the grocery store is not worth it because this food item can easily be made at home. Here’s a simple kitchen trick to make it as long as you own a spice grinder…
 
This trick takes less than a minute to make this type of sugar. I always make some ahead of time so when I need it, it’s already done. Do me a favor and save a few bucks by making your own…
