When David and I go grocery shopping, we are shocked when we see how much they charge us for ground poultry! Yes, I know… there’s an extra step that the butcher has to do but does it really cost that much more. If you own a stand mixer, most of the brands out there have other attachments to add to your appliance. Buying a meat grinder is so worth it especially if you make your own ground meat, Sausage or Steak Tartare.
 
In this episode, I’ll show you how to Grind Chicken & Save Money! It’s not hard but there are a few important things to do it properly. Without going into too much detail, the most crucial step is to keep everything cold and I mean very cold. At all times, the meat should remain chilled because not only does it make it easier to grind but it’s also “meat safe”.
 
When you Grind Chicken & Save Money, there are a few tips you need to know. If you want a very lean meat, choose skinless, boneless chicken breasts. If you want juicier meat, grind skinned boned chicken thighs and drumsticks. If you want more flavor then use turkey wings, breasts, thighs and drumsticks.
