Chocolate Waffles
Valentine’s 💘 is coming up this weekend and you’ll probably want to surprise your partner with a lovely breakfast. You might go for Eggs Benny, Crêpes Suzette, a lovely Quiche, some Blueberry Pancakes, French Toast, Farmer’s Sausage Skillet, etc.
Valentine’s is always associated with chocolate (also flowers 💐, cards and gifts) therefore here’s a scrumptious recipe to make… Chocolate Waffles! Super easy to make, in less than 15 minutes, you can enjoy this amazing breakfast item! It’s a nice change from the regular ones.
They’re a great start to the day but can also be served as a dessert. Mix all the ingredients and you’re good to go, ready to make these tasty guys! My waffle iron takes about 4 minutes ⏳ per waffle but yours can take less or more time.
There’s about 1 ½ cups of whole milk 🥛 that goes in the making of these Chocolate Waffles. Now, if you have some evaporated milk leftover sitting in your fridge and don’t know what to do with it, this is the time to use it. In the video, I use ½ cup of evaporated milk therefore only 1 cup of whole milk.
Where are these decadent “gaufres au chocolat” (in French) from? Apparently, French Joseph Gillier who was the chef d’office to Stanisław I Leszczyński, King of Poland and Duke of Lorraine, published the first recipe back in 1751. He added 3 ounces of grated chocolate 🍫 into the batter, mixing it in before cooking.
These Chocolate Waffles are a delicious way to express your love and affection to your partner! Put together in next to no time and topped with whipped cream and some strawberries 🍓, this will definitely earn you some bonus points!
