Directions
Preheat waffle iron.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
Add milk, beaten eggs, butter and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth, cleaning the sides and bottom of the bowl. Fold in chocolate chips.
Grease waffle iron with cooking spray and add a couple ladles of the batter. Close the lid and cook until golden and crisp, about 4 minutes.
Transfer onto a wire rack to let moisture escape.
To keep them warm while doing the others, put them in a plate and transfer to a 170ºF preheated oven.
Spoon some whipped cream and top with sliced strawberries. Makes 8 6-inch waffles.
Notes
Footnote: I prefer 1/2 cup of semi-sweet but it can be anything from 1/2 to 1 cup so adjust it to your liking.
