Blueberry Cream Soda Float
I think most of us will agree that the ultimate treat on a hot summer day is ice cream! It’s cold, creamy, tasty, and refreshing. Ice cream is very nostalgic, bringing back profound happy memories from our childhood, like days at the cottage, birthday parties 🥳, trips with family, and so on.
Another one that is dear to me is floats! Each time my parents, brother, and I returned from the beach 🌊, we would have a big bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken with all the goodies that came with it, and for dessert, it was a float.
My mother’s favorite was vanilla ice cream with pink cream soda. It was awesome as it tasted like bubblegum. Daniel and I liked it too but we were more inclined to stronger flavors, such as Cherry Cola Float, Orange Creamsicle 🍊, or this one… Blueberry Cream Soda Float!
This quick and easy recipe takes less than 5 minutes ⏳ to put together. The combination of sweetness from the berries, the fizzy cream soda, along with an intense hint of blueberry flavor from the simple syrup, and the creamy vanilla ice cream, makes this a heavenly tall glass of yumminess!
Before adding a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream, I like chilling my milkshake glasses. I didn’t prior to filming because I didn’t have any space in my freezer; it was filled all the way to the top. I suggest you chill your glasses for a good 30 minutes ⏰ if you can.
Two generous scoops are dropped into these tall glasses, using my No-Churn Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. To enhance the taste of this Blueberry Cream Soda Float, I add some of my Blueberry Simple Syrup. Frankly, you should have this condiment on hand. It’s perfect for mixing cocktails 🍹 and also for recipes.
Then top them off with white cream soda. If you want, you can enjoy it as is, but (of course!) I prefer garnishing with fresh blueberries and drizzling on some Blueberry Simple Syrup. It’s like the cherry 🍒 on top of the sundae… well, in this case, blueberries!
Ice cream floats have been around since the 1870s. Although this delicious and colorful Blueberry Cream Soda Float is an enhanced modern version of the classic, it’s nonetheless a nostalgic, refreshing, cold treat to enjoy on a hot summer day 😎🌴…
