Dirty Dry Martini
After a long day working (which happens daily… sigh! 🙄), I like to enjoy a cocktail. It can be a Bloody Caesar, Cosmocello, Greyhound, Canadian Club & Ginger Ale, or simply a glass of wine. I also like to enjoy a martini. It can be a Blood Orange (available between October and May), Napoleon Martini, Limoncello Martini, Appletini, Chinatini or Chocolate Grasshopper – a great one to sip after dinner.
I also enjoy the classic one and it’s my Dirty Dry Martini 🍸! What? Yes, it’s dirty and dry all at the same time! The basic dry martini uses dry vermouth – to get it extra dry there’s no vermouth or only a couple drops. What makes a “dirty” martini dirty is using a splash of olive brine. Technically it should only be with the brine, no vermouth added – I use some that’s the reason why I call it that.
When it comes to making it 👩🍳, I’m the female version of James Bond, – “shaken, not stirred!” although the proper way to make it is stirred so there are no shards of ice in it. I also use vodka instead of gin one of the rare liquors I don’t enjoy… ewww! By all means, use gin if you prefer and stir it as much as you want… after all you’ll be drinking it 😉!
I name it differently than most people do, I shake it plus I use vodka instead of gin. Is there anything else unusual I do? The answer is yes! I like to garnish my Dirty Dry Martini with a couple of Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives… so yummy 🤩!
I love my Dirty Dry Martini this way and I’m not alone. Even some of my girlfriends “martini snobs” enjoy it like this as well. If you get upset with my mixology recipe, perhaps you just need a cocktail to chill out… lol 😂!
Cheers! 🥂
P.S. Please drink responsibly but go wild with the stuffed olives… lol!
