Cooking and baking should be fun and relaxing although there are some situations out of our control that can happen. Measuring Honey, Syrup or Molasses can be challenging and frustrating therefore here’s a kitchen trick for you that I think you will appreciate!

Baking things in the kitchen can be frustrating at times especially when dealing with “sticky” ingredients such as honey or molasses or others like syrup and peanut butter. Not only do they stick to your spoon or cup but you also have to scrape them out into a bowl. Another point to consider is the measurements might be off by a little because of it as well.

Here’s the perfect, simple and quick trick to measure sticky ingredients without the mess and uncertainty… cooking spray! That’s right! To get the perfect measurement every time when handling honey or molasses, spray your spoon or cup with cooking spray. It will pour right out like a charm! By not sticking to your measuring tools, you’ll end up with an accurate amount and there’s no second guessing!

Depending on the recipe, you can omit the cooking spray trick. If your recipe calls for oil though, measure it first so you’ll already have a coating for your honey, molasses or other sticky ingredients such as syrup and peanut butter therefore there is no need to use cooking spray.

So next time there is a recipe that asks for these sticky ingredients, you can leave the frustrations and uncertainties out of your kitchen as now you know this task will go smooth and easy!
