Generously season meat with salt and pepper; add steak seasoning if you go for it. Mix well and form 4 equal patties.
Cover with plastic wrap, and transfer to the fridge for at least 2 hours and up to 8 hours.
A few hours later, take the patties out of the fridge and let them get to room temperature.
Using tongs and a paper towel, oil grates with canola oil and bring the BBQ temperature between 500ºF to 550ºF.
Place patties on the oiled grates, close the lid and grill them about 6 to 7 minutes per side for medium-rare or 8 to 9 minutes for medium.
About three minutes before they’re done, place hamburger buns on the upper rack and top the patties with a couple slices of cheese. Close the lid and continue cooking until time is up.
To assemble…Spoon Classic Burger Sauce on the bottom and top of toasted hamburger buns. From the bottom up, place lettuce, a slice of tomato and patty – add another patty for a double cheeseburger.
