Pour beer into canister and add basil leaves, thyme sprigs, and garlic clove. Place the lid on, secure it and slide it into the stand sitting on the tray.
Sit chicken on top of canister and move its legs forward to stabilize the bird. Evenly brush on the rub, making sure to cover the entire chicken.
Place the tray in the middle of the preheated grill with indirect heat, close the lid and cook until internal temperature reaches 175ºF.
About 45 minutes after sitting there (literally), brush on BBQ Sauce for Chicken, close the lid and repeat every 15 minutes until it’s done.
