- 1 tbsp. olive oil tips & tricks
- 1 cup white onions, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 lbs. (750 g) lean ground beef
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste (I always use mixed peppercorns)
- 1 can (10.5 oz.) chicken gumbo Campbells®
- 3 tbsp. ketchup
- 3 tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/8 tsp. garlic salt, or more to taste
- 20 small buns
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
In a skillet over medium heat, add oil and when it gets hot, add onions; sauté until soft, about 2 minutes.
Add beef and cook until no longer pink. Halfway through cooking, crack on some freshly ground black pepper.
When cooked, drain the fat and return the meat to the skillet.
Add chicken gumbo, ketchup, prepared mustard, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika and garlic salt; mix well. Warm the mixture for 5 minutes.
Make a small incision in the buns and stuff them with the beef mixture.
Place them in a baking dish side by side facing up and bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from the heat and serve immediately with mustard or any preferred condiments.
