Quattro Formaggi Pizza - Four Cheese Pizza

- 4 links (400g) hot Italian sausage, casing removed, cooked, drained and divided see Recipe
- 2 - 12 inch pizza doughs see Recipe
- 1 cup marinara sauce, or as needed, divided see Recipe
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained and divided
- 14 strips green peppers, divided
- 14 strips red peppers, divided
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, grated and divided tips & tricks
- 1 cup Asiago cheese, grated and divided
- 1 cup Fontina cheese, grated and divided
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated and divided
- 1/2 can (2.25 oz.) sliced black olives, drained and divided
- 10 large fresh basil leaves, divided tips & tricks
Preheat oven to 500ºF.
In a skillet over medium heat, add sausage, breaking down the meat into tiny pieces, and sauté until cooked. Remove from the heat and drain well in a colander.
Meanwhile, spread marinara sauce over the pizza crusts. Add the drained meat and spread it out evenly on both pies as well as the sun-dried tomatoes.
Place green and red pepper strips alternately in a circular pattern. Evenly sprinkle on Mozzarella cheese, then Asiago followed by Fontina and Parmesan. Top pies with black olives and finish with basil leaves.
Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the crust is nice and brown, and the cheeses are melted.
