1/2cupunsalted butter, and more to grease the dishtips & tricks
1cup brown sugar, packed
1/2cupcorn syrup or golden syrupsee Recipe
1/2cup cocoa powder, or to taste
1/4tsp.ground Himalayan sea salt
1tsp.pure vanilla extract
8cupspuffed wheat cereal
Directions
Generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.
In a large pot over medium heat, add butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, cocoa powder and salt. Stir until everything is well combined. When it starts simmering, let it bubble for 2 minutes.
Remove from the heat and add vanilla; stir well. Add the cereal and stir until evenly coated.
Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press down evenly using a spatula or place parchment paper on top; remove the paper and discard it.
Let it sit at room temperature until completely cool, about 1 ½ to 2 hours. Cut into squares and serve.
