Maple Syrup Frosting

Delicious, this Maple Syrup Frosting is perfect for baked goods! It’s a great recipe to have on hand this spring for sugar shack and Easter!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/8 tsp. fleur de sel
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted tips & tricks
  • 1/2 cup maple sugar, sifted
  • 9 to 10 tbsp. good quality maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract (substitute with pure maple extract)

Directions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment on, add butter and salt. Whip on high for 4 minutes.
  • Working in batches, add ½ cup confectioner’s sugar and 2 tbsp. maple sugar.
  • Process on medium-low until blended, cleaning the sides and the bottom of the bowl as needed. Repeat with the same amounts.
  • When the mixture is getting very dry, add half maple syrup and process until the texture is smooth.
  • Add the remaining confectioner's sugar, maple sugar, and maple syrup; add pure vanilla extract. Process once again until smooth, cleaning the sides and the bottom of the bowl.
