Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil tips & tricks
  • 1 cup white onions, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 lbs. (750 g) lean ground beef
  • freshly ground black pepper, to taste (I always use mixed peppercorns)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz.) chicken gumbo Campbells®
  • 3 tbsp. ketchup
  • 3 tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 small pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 small pinch smoked paprika
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic salt, or more to taste
  • 20 small buns

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add oil and when it gets hot, add onions; sauté until soft, about 2 minutes. Add beef and cook until no longer pink. Halfway through cooking, crack on some freshly ground black pepper.
  • When cooked, drain the fat and return the meat to the skillet. Add chicken gumbo, ketchup, prepared mustard, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika and garlic salt; mix well. Warm the mixture for 5 minutes.
  • Make a small incision in the buns and stuff them with the beef mixture.
  • Place them in a baking dish side by side facing up and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and serve immediately with mustard or any preferred condiments.
