Homemade Lemonade

Delicious and refreshing, this Homemade Lemonade is the perfect drink to quench your thirst on a hot summer day! Great for a BBQ or picnic.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, or to taste (substitute simple syrup) tips & tricks
  • 8 cups distilled water, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6-7 lemons) tips & tricks
  • 2-3 slices lemon, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  • To make simple syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 ½ cups of water with powdered sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Allow the simple syrup to cool at room temperature before transferring to the fridge.
  • Juice lemon, making sure there are no seeds, and set aside.
  • In a large pitcher, combine simple syrup, lemon juice and the remaining water; stir until well blended.
  • Transfer to the fridge until very chilled, about 3 hours.
  • When ready to serve, garnish with lemon slices.
