Spanish Sangria

This refreshing Spanish Sangria is perfect on hot summer days! Smooth & fruity, this alcoholic beverage is sure to please everyone!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 large lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 large tangerine, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 large Spartan apple, cored and thinly cubed
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle dry red wine Footnote
  • 2 1/2 ounces brandy
  • 2 1/2 ounces orange juice tips & tricks
  • 1 1/2 ounces Triple Sec
  • 2 cups 7Up®, ginger ale or soda
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Directions

  • In a large pitcher, combine all the ingredients except carbonated beverage and ice cubes; stir well.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and transfer to the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Before serving, add 7Up® or any other carbonated beverage of choice and ice cubes; stir well and serve immediately.

Notes

Footnote: I didn't really give you any suggestions on which wine to use besides being dry. If I may, here are a couple of suggestions on the kinds of wine you might want to use in this recipe - Torres Sangre de Torro or other Garnacha, any Primitivo as well as Cabernet Sauvignon. Try to avoid wines with big tannins (i.e. Bordeaux) or the opposite, the ones without enough such as Gamay, Pinot Noir, etc.
