When I go to the grocery store and see people buying premade Graham Cracker Crust, I just roll my eyes 🙄. Making it from scratch can’t be easier and using just a few ingredients, you have your crust freshly made! My motto is – “why buying when I can make it at home”.
 
The first and only time I got a store bought one, it wasn’t a good experience. As soon as I removed the wrapping, the crust smelled rancid… ewww 🤢! That day, I promised myself to spend the little extra time to make graham cracker crust at home.
 
Here are more reasons to make it 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 instead of buying it…
 
One of them is there are no preservatives. You can either buy crackers or crumbs and proceed with this recipe, using ingredients that you have on hand at home. The other motive to not buy premade at the store is it’s a fraction of the cost when making them at home 🏡. What you need is…
 
– 1 1/2 cups Graham Cracker crumbs (look below for more info)
– 1/3 cup brown sugar
– 1 small pinch ground Himalayan pink salt
– 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
– 7 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
 
I can’t stop you from buying it at the store 🛒 but if you are conscious about avoiding preservatives, save a few bucks and take pride in making your own graham cracker crust then watch this video and have fun making it for your dessert recipes! FOOTNOTE #1: If you are using crackers instead of crumbs (both are available at your grocery store), it’s about 3 full graham cracker sheets for 1/2 cup of graham cracker crumbs.
 
FOOTNOTE #2: If you decide to refrigerate longer than one hour, cover the crust with plastic wrap.
