We all know how to extract juice from our citrus fruits but if you want to get the most out of them , here are some kitchen tricks for you…
- The best method I like to use is the microwave. Place your citrus on a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 15 to 25 seconds on High. This is great especially when making Key Lime Pie and you need to extract as much juice as possible.
- Another method is to roll the citrus back and forth on the counter, applying heavy pressure with the heel of your hand. This helps to burst the segments inside. I like to use this classic technique if I just need a little bit of juice and don’t use a juicer.
- Of course, here’s the obvious method…a juicer! There are two to choose from; one is the hand held press juicer and the other is a power juicer. I have both and you can find them in the ‘SHOP” section of Club Foody.
