American Thanksgiving is just around the corner on November 24th in fact. You have figured out your guest list and your menu, but aren’t quite sure which wines to serve.
As this is an American holiday, I’ve selected two excellent wines from California that will please your dinner guests and pair well with the Thanksgiving Day feast.

Chateau St Jean Bijou Chardonnay - CaliforniaThe white wine I’ve chosen is Chateau St. Jean Bijou Chardonnay 2014 from Sonoma, California. This chardonnay is lightly oaked with a fresh, crisp nose and aromas of peach, pear and a hint of citrus. On the palate are flavors of pineapple, pear and tropical fruit with just the right amount of acidity for a smooth, creamy mouth feel. The light oak character of this wine makes it compatible with a wide range of dishes. This light to medium-bodied gem (Bijou is French for Jewel) can be found at your local wine store for around $16.00.

For our red wine, we have Duck Pond Pinot Noir 2015, Willamette Valley region, Oregon. This light-bodied red has Duck Pond Pinot Noir - Oregonlively red fruits on the nose, with aromas of cherry, spice, minerals and light oak. It has a long, silky finish with the depth and richness characteristic of these flavorful grapes. This wine pairs well with baked or grilled salmon, poultry, meat and cheese tray with pâté and cornichons. You can find this wine for around $21.00 at your local wine store.

These two scrumptious American wines are a good choice for your Thanksgiving dinner. Both pair very well with a lot of different dishes therefore they should be perfect for your menu on turkey day!
Happy Thanksgiving!
