Another year is about to end and New Year’s celebrations are about to begin. What comes to mind as we bid farewell to the past year is which cocktail we choose to welcome in the new one… Champagne is always a popular choice but let’s not forget that there are some excellent sparkling wines available!
 
To celebrate the New Year, I’ve chosen Jansz Premium Cuvée – Tazmania, Australia. This sparkling wine Jansz Premium Cuvée - Tasmeniais a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes made using the traditional French Méthode that the Jansz vineyard calls Méthode Tasmanoise. Climatic conditions at the Jansz vineyards are comparable to the famous French wine region of Champagne. Pale yellow-gold in color, this elegant wine has aromas of honeysuckle, citrus and roasted nuts. Well-balanced flavors of peach, pear and strawberry with a creamy mouth feel and light, dry citrus finish. Crisp, clean and refreshing this sparkling wine is excellent on its own and pairs well with a variety of party appetizers. This wine can be found at your local liquor store for around $27.00.
